It all started at a bowling alley... I was bowling in a league with some friends of Chris' and he came to visit. Unbeknownst to him his buddy has given me the "heads up" that Chris might be somebody I wanted to get to know...pretty good foresight ,huh? Well, that move earned our "cupid" friend Joey a spot in our wedding! Now, it did take Chris a year to come to his senses and ask me out...but he finally did and the rest is history. We have been dating for 4 years and on Valentines Day of this year he to ask me to be his wife. I said "of course" and now we are looking forward to the rest of our lives together. So far our families have merged fabulously and we are excited to see what the future holds for us...
10-10-10...It has a nice ring to it , right? That's what we thought, so we picked it as our special day. We will be getting married at 1:00 pm at Hurless Barton Park in Yorba Linda, California. This park is very special to me as I grew up less than a mile away; rode my horses there and had Girl Scout events and awards there. The small amphitheater in the back is where the ceremony will be taking place. The reception will held adjacent to the park in the Yorba Linda Community Center's Imperial Room. My parents and I are doing the planning and decorating on our own. It has been a labor of love and I am grateful to have such a talented mom to help me with all of the details. PS- My mom is even making my dress!!!
The reception will be in the Imperial Room of the Yorba Linda Community Center. There will be drinks, dinner, desserts and dancing. Please bring your dancing shoes....I want to boogie! There is ample parking for the community center and if you stay at the Chase Suites Hotel (where we blocked out rooms) you can have a free shuttle back and forth to the celebration. The closest airport is Orange County/John Wayne/Santa Ana (whatever you want to call it!), the next would be Long Beach, Ontario and then LAX. We have blocked out some rooms at the Chase Suites Hotel 2 miles from the event site at 3100 E Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92821, Phone: 888-433-9402, Website: www.chasehotelbrea.com. The rooms are blocked out under the De Soto/Magill wedding. This hotel provides spacious suites with a kitchenette at a reasonable rate of $79-$89. There is a pool , complimentary breakfast and they will be providing a free shuttle to and from the event site for all hotel guests.
